Day #34 : Impulse!

This form is called a Ghazal and it contains a bunch of couplets with refrains so it’s gunna be a bit repetitive!

Try to Refrain

Dipping our pale toes into this lake of impulse Our bodies warm against the sun and yet this impulse

drags us down to silky sand, enticing us to freeze. Oh, how easy life would be if we chose control over impulse.

Perhaps our insistence for convenience and immediacy Plummets us like bricks into a river, this river of impulse.

The instant tang of cold needles prickling our skin May leave marks as we walk out, showing our scars of impulse

Although we know the water is not sweet and the bottom holds glass shards We cannot resist the temptation that maybe this time it will be worth our impulse.
